Physiotherapy is a primary care, autonomous, client-focused health profession dedicated to improving quality of life by:
- Promoting optimal mobility, physical activity and overall health and wellness;
- Preventing disease, injury, and disability;
- Managing acute and chronic conditions, activity limitations, and participation restrictions;
- Improving and maintaining optimal functional independence and physical performance;
- Rehabilitating injury and the effects of disease or disability with therapeutic exercise programs and other interventions; and - Educating and planning maintenance and support programs to prevent re-occurrence, re-injury or functional decline.

Physiotherapy is anchored in movement sciences and aims to enhance or restore function of multiple body systems. The profession is committed to health, lifestyle and quality of life. This holistic approach incorporates a broad range of physical and physiological therapeutic interventions and aids.

Physiotherapy interventions include, but are by no means limited to, the following broad categories:
- Education, consultation, health promotion and prevention services.
- Personalized therapeutic exercise including testing and conditioning, neurotherapeutic approaches to improve strength, range of motion, and function.
- Soft tissue and manual therapy techniques; including massage, spinal and peripheral joint mobilization and manipulation. - - Physical, electrotherapeutic and mechanical agents; and acupuncture.
- Cardiorespiratory techniques including airway clearance methods.
- Skin and wound care.
- Management of incontinence including pelvic floor re-education.
- Functional activity and tolerance testing and training.
- Work and occupational re-training and return to work planning.
- Prescription, fabrication and application of assistive, adaptive, supportive and protective devices and equipment.
- Environmental change, focusing on removing barriers to function.

Jennifer completed her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2020. Since then she has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, acute care, and inpatient neurological rehab. In this time Jennifer has found her passion in working with neurological patients (brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury) and geriatric patients to help increase function, independence, and safety at home.

Jennifer has achieved her ACC designation (Acupuncture Canada Certification) and utilizes this in her treatments to aid in the rehabilitation of a wide range of conditions.

On a personal note, Jennifer has 2 dogs and spends a lot of her time out walking them in the River Valley.  Say hi if you see her out and about!

Stephen received his BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge in 2019 and completed his post-graduate MSc in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2023. Throughout Stephen’s life, he has had a passion for learning about various musculoskeletal and neurological injuries and how to help people overcome those injuries and thrive physically. He currently plans to pursue courses to improve his manual therapy skills and to add acupuncture/intramuscular stimulation to his available treatment modalities.

Stephen grew up and has lived in Southern Alberta most of his life but now calls Edmonton home with his wife and brother-in-law who is dependent with autism. His interests include jiu jitsu, muay thai, fly fishing, camping, bouldering, and exploring the various festivals that Edmonton has to offer!

Joshua received his Physical Therapy Degree in Our Lady of Fatima University, Philippines in 2013. He has several years of experience working with various Orthopedic conditions from acute to chronic injuries, Geriatrics, Orthopaedic, Post-Surgical and Post Concussion conditions. Joshua looks forward to utilizing a mix of manual techniques and exercise to help restore function and achieve patient centered goals. He believes that therapy is a collaborative effort between the therapist and patient to create a personalized plan of care. Joshua likes spending time with his family on his days off, going for a walk in the park or driving out of town to relax.

He has since worked in the hospital setting with a wide variety of clients, with special interest in geriatric and stroke/neurological rehab. He is driven to help his clients reach their mobility goals by empowering them with education on their condition, individualized goal-setting and thoughtful selection of therapeutic exercises.

Majo graduated from Angeles University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1999. He has been working with Alberta Health Services at the Leduc Community Hospital since 2018. He is experienced with acute and chronic pain management, orthopaedic care, post- operative surgeries, geriatrics, neurological conditions like stroke, Parkinsons and MS, as well as and cardiac rehabilitation. Majo is well versed with exercise programming, manual therapy and functional mobility training to assist you or your loved one to regain your/their previous level of functioning or decline in functioning. He has advanced training in vestibular rehabilitation including vertigo, nausea and balance issues.

In his spare time Majo enjoys playing basketball, fishing, gardening, camping, watching anime spending time with his family which includes 2 daughters and a son.

Asma completed her Bachelor’s degree (B.S.PT) in Physiotherapy in 2005. She completed her Masters degree in Advanced Upper Extremity Rehabilitation (MCISc) from Western University from London, Ontario in 2023. Asma has achieved many different certifications throughout the years including Vestibular Rehabilitation, Biomechanical Dry Needling and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation. She has almost 17 years of clinical experience in different areas of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Pearl Chua graduated in 2023 from the University of Alberta with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to that, she completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology with Distinction in 2020. Pearl is passionate about helping others. She strongly believes in empowering clients by providing individualized treatment plans and self-management techniques, allowing them to take control of their lives and return to the activities they love most. Pearl takes an active rehabilitation approach, mainly focusing on therapeutic exercise and education.

Niloida is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy of De La Salle University, Philippines. Her professional interests include treating musculoskeletal conditions including sports injuries and orthopaedic cases in children, adults and geriatrics. She completed courses in manual therapy, spinal and peripheral manipulation, dry needling, and vestibular rehabilitation. Niloida believes that each client is unique and it is necessary to “think outside the box” and to try different and innovative approaches in handling each client’s condition.
